Your Complete Area Guide
A large thriving village in the Wolds, home to the British Geological Survey, excellent schools, and a vibrant community with outstanding local amenities.
Heritage
Keyworth was originally a small agricultural village in the South Nottinghamshire Wolds. The village grew significantly in the 20th century, particularly after the British Geological Survey relocated its headquarters here in 1985.
The BGS brought scientific expertise and employment to the area, transforming Keyworth into a unique blend of rural village charm and world-class scientific research.
Today, Keyworth is one of the largest villages in Rushcliffe, with excellent amenities, a thriving high street, and a strong sense of community identity.
